METAL BUILDINGS

North of Orion works on both residential and commercial metal building projects. Sizes ranging from 900 square foot custom homes to project management of 100,000 square foot commercial spaces. From complex additions with cranes and mezzanines, to custom garages, we have the experience and the resources to get your project done.

For most commercial metal building projects, North of Orion perfers to work with a skilled General Contractor in order to deliver a project as quickly as possible. On some simple, small commercial projects, we will work direct if the scope of work makes sense.

On residential projects, we can assist with everything from a supply only metal building, to a complete turn-key project including permits, engineering and all finishes. Do you have certain skills of your own? In many cases, we are happy to even leave a few scope items within the property owner's capable hands.

Whether it is commercial or residential, we can help from as early in the process as a basic idea in your mind, to detailed drawings.

9,000 SQ FT Hangar

This private hangar was a ground up project on a beautiful piece of the Sonoran Desert with a Riparian zone, Flood Control Zone restrictions, and several protected plant species.

Inside the hangar, we built a small studio apartment. Floors were ground and epoxied. The project finished on time, and substantially underbudget, inclusive of scope upgrades (concrete apron; replaced culverts; epoxied floors).

RETAIL CENTER

This retail building needed to blend in with an agricultural setting. Insulated metal wall panels were used, combined with standing seam metal roof panels. The Lean-To porch incorporated flat metal soffit panels with recessed lights to provide both a shaded display area and a bird free zone for sculptures.

REPAIR SHOPS

Red-iron metal buildings are an economical solution for large spans, big openings, and shaded canopies. This shop will also include an interior, fully air conditioned office space and bathrooms for the crew.

COLD FORMED RAPID RESULTS

North of Orion has experience with a sub-set of pre-engineered metal buildings, known as "cold-formed" pre-engineered metal buildings. These buildings may be used for both commercial and residential projects.

Stamped permitted drawings and calculations can be produced as quickly as a few hours. Occassionally drawings take a week for custom designs. In most cases we can also provide stamped foundation drawings. Steel is delvered typically within 2 - 3 weeks.

These buildings have been used for everything from custom homes, to garages, to commercial equipment storage sheds.
